The new GRUNDOMAT soil displacement hammer generation with P (for power), replaces the previous Z-version. This new machine generation was developed to meet the customers' requests for easier reversing and even higher efficiency. One main property of the GRUNDOMAT-P-Generation is the improved chisel head system. First, the percussion piston, running ahead in advance to produce a pilot bore in the first cycle, strikes the chisel, like before. This allows the GRUNDOMAT to work with extreme precision, even in stony grounds. Immediately after the stroke on the chisel, the piston also strikes the protective casing directly, which is then pulled in together with the pipes attached. Even resistance peaks and casing friction are easily overcome - therefore the propulsion speed is increased immensely. The two-stroke action principle is an idea of TRACTO-TECHNIK.

Switching the GRUNDOMAT models 130P, 145P, 160P and 180P over from forward to backward motion, and vice versa, is performed with a lever of the control unit outside the pit and no longer with the compressed air hose (see photograph). Retaining their full capacity, the smaller types are switched over with the well-established thrust control, which works with a _ twist at the hose. Recommendable accessories: Grundoscope aiming frame and starting cradle, tensioning plate for simultaneous pipe installations and the Unitherm compressed air heater for freezing temperatures in winter. Using ram cone attachments, the GRUNDOMAT soil displacement hammers can also act as rammers for steel pipe installation.

The advantages at a glance:
-
higher installation speed due to the new chisel head system, slighter return stroke
-
new chisel head system for easily overcoming resistance peaks and casing friction in all soil types
-
less machine weight, at the same time more piston weight for more "power"
-
simple, time and power saving lever operation of the Tracto servo control
-
no starting problems and no "shock-effect" due to kinking hoses
-
low air consumption
-
control unit and lubricator in one compact structural element between machine and compressor
-
light weight hoses
-
connection hose can be exchanged without disassembling the end cone or the pull sleeve
-
chisel head and piston - specially hardened
-
piston runs in high-quality sliding bushes - no metal contact
-
maximum protection against corrosion
