EON connects the island Helgoland to the power network
Up to now power was supplied to the island of Helgoland in the North Sea via Diesel power engines which were starting to age. The 7 million litres of Diesel consumed annually are omitted in the future and also 17.500 tons of CO². Now a 20 million Euro project has been set up to connect Helgoland to the European power supply network. For this reason a 51,7 km long pipeline was installed within only 12 days from the land-based city of St. Peter Ording to Helgoland.

Pipe installation underneath lake Müritz/Germany
The current capacity of the power supply network had to be increased to ensure the supply for an expansion of an industrial park in Malchow near the lake Müritz the province of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. A pipeline below lake Müritz with a length of 350 meters which had already installed in 1998 using the HDD method was not able to cover the current requirements sufficiently in peak times. Thus additional power cables with cross-section of 150 mm² each had to be installed in three 160 mm HDPE protection pipes.

Grundopit S - Accuracy beyond doubt
TT UK Ltd we were recently approached to assist with a trenchless solution to install 110mm OD Gravity lateral connections on a new sewage scheme. Site constraints included 1050mm diameter concrete rings and 600mm square manhole covers. The biscuits and lids were already installed. Due to the lateral having a gravity requirement the most crucial constraint was the accuracy of installation over the entire length. The GRUNDOPIT S manhole version is dedicated to this precise application.
