Installation of house connections

The most effective and economical way to install house connections subsequently, e.g. for gas or data lines, is the application of a Grundomat soil displacement hammer. Garden buildings like walls, patios, stairways, paved paths, garden ponds and the planting in the garden, of course, remain almost untouched.
 
As a rule, the installation starts from a pit at the main line and leads to a pit in front of the house wall; differences in height can easily be overcome. A core hole bore forces access to the building, only non-directional straight line performance is possible, however. As a further operational condition, the soil must be displaceable (> soil grade 5). It is also madatory to consider existing pipes and cables lines in the bore path.
 
The application of a Grundomat is profitable for lengths from 3 m on. The average private hoese connection is 15 m long. Usually, plastic pipes with maximum diameters up to ND 180 are installed with a Grundomat displacement hammer. The displacement hammer pulls the pipes into the bore hole directly. Thrust time averages 15 m/h. Compared with open trench installation, a cost-saving potential of almost 50 % can be achieved, depending on the property.

Meanwhile, thanks to an improved building-access technique, it is possible to start the Grundomat directly out of a core hole bore in the basement. This saves the excavation of a pit in front of the house wall. After installation the bore has to be sealed tightly on the inside and especially on the outside. The directional drilling technique of the Grundopit drill rigs comes into operation in topographically difficult terrains. For example, this is a possibility when installing a new private sewer connection leading to the transfer manhole. The Grundopit Type S can be started directly from an inspection chamber with a previously prepared core bore hole. For most application cases, this completely saves the bother preparing pits.
